Remember that the Green Party does not accept corporate donations – we have no wealthy backers and as such rely solely on the donations of our members and supporters. We appreciate all our donors and supporters – thank you!
£20 – The cost of 1000 campaign leaflets
£50 – Will pay for a candidate’s web site for a year
£200 – Cover the cost of 5000 letterheads
£1000 – Will pay for posters to cover an entire election ward
Becoming active in the Green Party NI
Most members choose to help out financially and at election times only. However we do need people with organisational skills, editorial skills, and people willing to put their names forward for elections – many people are reluctant given the history of politics in N.I.
Even simple matters like sending delegates to Belfast, London or Dublin requires a day or two of someone’s time. Last year delegates attended the Scottish Greens AGM and we arranged to have mutual recognition of each others membership and to be able to draw on the research capability of their team of Scottish MSP’s based at Holyrood – the Scottish Parliament.
Remember the Green Party is the biggest party in Europe with nearly 40 MEP’s in the European Parliament! The only way for us in N.I. is up!!
Winning with your standing Order
The Green Party had a fantastic result at the 2007 Assembly Elections with the election of Brian Wilson in North Down as our First MLA. We also made significant gains in all 13 constituencies in which we stood.
This was thanks to the hard work of our members, and indeed to the financial support we gain through standing orders. We intend to build on this success in the future. Your membership and s/o could make a big difference to the next election.
